Community Impact Newspaper's internship program is an innovative experience for individuals interested in a career in community journalism. For 10 weeks, you'll have the opportunity to work with industry veterans and learn from experienced editors working on storytelling and data-heavy assignments to inform readers in their local communities through the collaboration of a passionate team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will learn from industry journalism pros, network and build out your resume ... all in sunny, beautiful Texas. This program will allow interns to experience what it's like in a professional newsroom shadowing reporters and editors, and taking on assignments and projects specific to the markets you'll be working within. Interns will finish the 10-week program with a well-rounded newsroom experience, which will include writing web stories, shadowing reporters at local government meetings, contributing stories to the print product, and writing for our highly-read Impacts and To-do List sections of the paper. You'll also have the opportunities to learn the intricacies of how other departments within the newspaper collaborate to make this a fantastic media company.

Community Impact Newspaper serves 59 communities in five major Texas metros (Austin, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Phoenix & Nashville). Hyperlocal journalism is what we do and we are PRINT-FIRST. You heard that right – our newspaper is a monthly publication that has delivers to 100 percent of homes and businesses in the communities we serve – over 2.7 million mailboxes! If that doesn't stand out, our brand of hyperlocal journalism is what our readers truly want. We know because we listen.
